The tour, What's new and Help

The welcome tour for new accounts, the two-minute tour, the What's new panel and the Help panel: what each one shows and how to open it again.

Ultrathink has four ways to help you find your feet without leaving the app: a welcome tour for new accounts, a short guided tour, a What’s new panel that lists every release, and a Help panel you can open from any page.

The welcome tour

A new account gets a short welcome tour after the setup guide. A card called Welcome to Ultrathink says “Throw three things in. Watch what happens to them.” Click Start to begin, or Skip to leave it.

The tour asks for three saves, and you can skip any of them with Skip this one:

  1. a link;
  2. a screenshot or a voice note;
  3. a thought, however messy.

As each one saves, the tour shows what Ultrathink made of it: the title, summary, topics, and any task or due date. On the Free plan it says the AI tidy-up is part of Pro, so the entry stays as you saved it, and carries on.

It ends by suggesting a search for something you just saved or, on Pro, a question to ask. Click Skip tour at any point to leave it. Once you finish or skip it, it is not offered again.

The welcome card

If you did not get the welcome tour, the first time you open Ultrathink a card called Find your way around Ultrathink offers two choices:

  • Take the tour: two minutes, and it shows you where everything is.
  • See what’s new: what changed in this release and the ones before it.

Click Not now to close it. You can open both again later.

After a release with changes you would notice, the same card comes back as Ultrathink has been updated, with the release title and how many changes it has.

The card remembers what you have seen in this browser only. If you use another browser or computer, it may offer the tour again.

The tour

The tour points at each part of the app in turn and explains it in a sentence or two. Nothing is saved or changed while it runs, and you can stop at any point.

StopWhat it shows
Getting aroundThe sidebar, and that you can rename and reorder it in Settings

Some stops only appear when they apply. Free plans skip the stops for Pro features, and an account with no entries yet skips the stops about entries. On a phone, the tour points at the menu button instead of the sidebar.

Moving through the tour

  • Click Next or press the right arrow or Enter to go on.
  • Click Back or press the left arrow to go back.
  • Click Skip tour or press Esc to stop.
  • The last stop has Done.

Take the tour again

  • Open the account menu in the top right and choose Take the tour.
  • Or open the Help panel and click Take the tour under Quick links.

What’s new

What’s new lists every release, newest first, with what changed in plain words. Each release says how many changes it has.

Open it from:

  • the account menu in the top right: What’s new;
  • the Help panel: What’s new under Quick links.

The Help panel

Click the question mark (Help) in the top bar to open the Help panel. It opens on the right on a computer, and over the page on a tablet or phone. Press Esc or the close button to shut it.

The panel has three tabs.

Ask

Type a question about using Ultrathink, such as “How do I capture from ChatGPT?”, and press Enter. The answer comes from these help pages, with links to the pages it used. It answers questions about the app, not about your own entries. For your entries, use AI search.

Use cases

Common jobs, such as saving AI conversations or keeping your topics tidy, grouped by theme. Each use case has suggested questions for the Ask tab and links to the help pages that cover it.

Send feedback

Click Feedback in the top bar. Type what is working, what is not, or what you would like to see, and send it.

You can also email me@cmw.email. See Contact and support.

The setup guide

New accounts with no entries also see a setup guide. It walks through the browser extension, the desktop app, a device key, making Ultrathink yours, and what the AI tidy-up does on your plan. Every step can be skipped.

If you close the guide before finishing, an Onboarding link stays at the foot of the sidebar so you can come back to it.
